Winter Swim Lesson Registration is open

Cyprus International University (CIU) Arena Pool Manager and Swimming Instructor Meliha Kaya stated that registration for winter swimming lessons is now open.

Stating that they had a very busy period especially with children of different age groups during the summer, Kaya noted that as the CIU Arena swimming pool is heated, they will continue offering swimming lessons in winter not only for children but also for all age groups.

Kaya stated that swimming lessons are not only organized for children, and added that there are swimming lessons for all ages; however, she added that  there is a great demand for swimming lessons for children.

Stating that they give priority to making children love water in the swimming lessons, Kaya noted that they then train children on activities such as putting their faces in water without fear, opening their eyes in water, building breath control in water, and how to propel themselves in water using arms and legs.

Kaya stated that they further the training on swimming styles in the later stages of the lessons, and said, "We provide training on freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly swimming styles, respectively."

CIU Arena Sports Coordinator Tarkan Kayaş, in his statement, emphasized that CIU Arena swimming lessons continue every semester, and stated that the pool has succeeded in being the most sterile pool in Northern Cyprus since the day it was put into operation, and added: "We want to be a valuable brand that comes to mind in the country when it comes to pools" and "We did it," he said.

Kayaş stated that the CIU Arena Pool has been found to be sterile in all tests conducted by the Ministry of Health since the day it was opened, Kayaş said, "In addition to the state-of-the-art technology of the CIU Arena equipment, the fact that the pool is monitored by the Environmental Engineering Department of our university has played a great role in achieving this success."
