A very meaningful donation from the CIU Drama Club

All money raised from the play "9 Canlı " staged by the Drama Club, which functions under the Social Activities and Student Clubs Coordination Office of Cyprus International University (CIU) Student Development and Counseling Center (SDCC), was donated to Cancer Patients Aid Association (CPAA).

SDCC Director Gamze Atay said that at CIU they attach great significance to such activities so as to contribute to the social and cultural development of their students. She also stated that they will continue to work along with the students to better and to improve the social responsibility projects.

Atay also said as an educator, she always conveys to the students the significance of taking part in social activities alongside their classes as this involvement will contribute significantly to their careers in the future.

Gamze Atay stated that the famous theater actor and director Ali Düşenkalkar and Erdal Cindoruk participated in the staging process of the play "9 Canlı" and said that after the performance, students had the chance to meet with these famous theater actors.

CIU Drama Club President Selin Süral also stated that they attach great importance to social responsibility projects as a club and noted that they prefer to donate the income of the play performed by the Drama Club to the Cancer Patients Aid Association, which supports many cancer patients. Stating that they made a very meaningful donation for them, Süral said, "If we can be a hope, if we can make them feel that they are not alone and that we will always be by their side, we are and shall always be happy."

Selin Süral suggested that other clubs should also take part in social responsibility projects and said, "Anyone can feel strong, but we are stronger together, there is nothing we cannot overcome."
