Reminding that World Peace Day is celebrated on 21st September upon the decision of the United Nations (UN) in 2001, Gündoğan stated that the UN's aim was to make a contribution towards creating peace awareness within the international system full of conflicts

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gündoğan stated that the UN's success score in preventing wars and conflicts is not very high, despite the fact that the decision in question is this well-intentioned one, and said, “With the replacement of large-scale wars to local and regional conflicts, non-state sectors were more involved in conflicts. This situation made the UN even more insufficient in preventing conflict.”

Solution methods based on law and diplomacy
Emphasizing that people should be made aware of this issue in order to live in peace and tranquility all over the world, and to ensure permanent peace, Gündoğan said, "Adapting the existing national security system, which emerged at the end of the Second World War and where the powerful countries who won the war were the decision-makers, will make a great contribution to ensuring world peace."

Gundogan pointed out that the basic condition for the establishment of lasting peace is to prevent any conflict from becoming armed conflict in advance, and said, “For this; development and implementation of conflict resolution methods based on law and diplomacy, removing the obstacles in order for different societies to co-exist, equality and cooperation based systems need to be improved.”
