Information was sought about social responsibility activities

Cyprus International University (CIU) Faculty of Communications, Public Relations and Advertising Department students, continue to come together with experts in the field during the pandemic period.

CIU Public Relations and Advertising Department students met with the Kemal Saraçoğlu Children with Leukemia and Cancer Foundation Coordinator Övgü İnce, during an online event held within the scope of the COVID-19 measures.

Briefing the students about the Kemal Saraçoğlu Foundation during the event, Övgü İnce also talked about the activities of the foundation. Discussing the importance of fundraising and social responsibility studies in non-governmental organizations, İnce shared examples of the projects and campaigns they have done as a foundation.

Övgü İnce: “The social responsibility projects we have developed are extremely valuable for our foundation”.

Stating that the foundation's budget consists entirely of donations, coordinator Övgü İnce went on to say, “For this reason, developing funding within our foundation is very important. The social responsibility projects we have developed with many businesses are very valuable to our foundation."

Giving examples of the foundation's projects that increase their income, and the social responsibility projects to the CIU students, İnce elaborated that the social responsibility activities carried out by students in their professional lives, will be important.

CIU Public Relations and Advertising Department Chair, Assist. Prof. Dr. Bahar Taşeli stated that such activities that provide an environment where experts from the field come together with students and share their knowledge and experience, makes significant contributions to the professional development of students.

Referring to the importance of making students aware of the projects and campaigns carried out in non-governmental organizations, and in relation to fund development, Taşeli underlined that they aim to raise graduates who are aware of their ethical and social responsibilities towards the society and the world they live in.
