CIU started the academic semester with international conferences

CIU hosted simultaneous online conferences attended by speakers from many countries of the world.

Various international conferences were held between 2 - 4 September, hosted by Cyprus International University (CIU). The conferences were organized by the Higher Education Quality Board (YÖKAK), Science Education and Technology Association (TASET), TOJET Journal, TOJSAT Journal, TOJNED Journal, American Education Communication, and Technologies Authority (AECT), Sakarya University, İstanbul University-Cerrahpaşa, and Governor State University. During the conferences, CIU Rector Prof. Dr. Halil Nadiri and YÖKAK President Prof. Dr. Muzaffer Elmas delivered opening speeches.

Over 100 attendees from various countries
At the International Conference on New Approaches in Education (INTE), International Science and Technology Conference (ISTEC), International Educational Technology Conference (IETC), International Teacher Education Conference (ITEC), International Media Studies Conference (ITICAM), and International Women's Studies Conference (IWSC) over 100 academics and experts made presentations. Within the scope of the online conferences, 14 invited speakers from the United States, Britain, Thailand, Italy, Portugal, and Turkey talked about scientific and technological developments.

Prof. Dr. Nadiri: "Students can do all kinds of transactions online"
In his speech, CIU Rector Prof. Dr. Halil Nadiri stated that they are honored to host such an important event and wished that the studies on science, technology, and distance education to be held in the two-day conference series would be beneficial to the field.

Pointing out that every segment of society is experiencing difficulties due to the pandemic experienced all over the world, Nadiri noted that in this process, higher education institutions also strive to continue their education and training services without interruption.

Rector Nadiri pointed out that many sectors have experienced a transformation for the requirements of the digital age in this process, and that higher education institutions are also a part of this transformation. Explaining that CIU uses digital platforms such as Student Information System (SIS) and Distance Education Support System (Moodle) in this process, Nadiri drew attention to the fact that through these systems, students can do all kinds of transactions online, from registration to online classes.

Prof. Dr. Muzaffer Elmas: "Accreditation processes are becoming more and more important"
President of YÖKAK Prof. Dr. Muzaffer Elmas, in his speech on "Quality and Accreditation in Higher Education", stated that the world has entered a new era through this process, and added that YÖKAK aims to create the internal quality assurance system in higher education institutions, taking into account the global trends and changes.

In this process, Elmas said that instead of making all courses online, a blended approach can be used, but stated that the course descriptions will remain the same.

Prof. Dr. Elmas pointed out that a multicultural structure has been created in universities in the new world order, and noted that accreditation processes are becoming more and more important in this context.
