CIU Nursing Master’s program has begun registrations for the new semester

The Cyprus International University (CIU) has begun to take applications for the Nursing Master's Program in English, for the 2020-2021 Academic Year Spring semester, which is affiliated to the university’s Institute of Graduate Studies and Research.

The program Officer, Prof. Dr. Hatice Sütçü Çiçek, stated that the importance of healthcare workers and nurses increased due to the Covid-19 epidemic across the world, and stated that the aim of this program is to raise knowledgeable, competent, and responsible graduate students on a national and international scale, within nursing education and research.

Informing that both undergraduate midwives and nurses can apply to the program, Çiçek went on to advise that in order to be successful in the education process of the program, 4 compulsory and 3 elective courses, 1 seminar and 1 thesis are to be completed.

Stating that courses such as Physiopathology and Conceptual Framework of Nursing are to be taken, and that the elective courses will be determined according to the study and interests of the student, Prof. Dr. Çiçek advised that the students could complete a nursing major by choosing subjects such as Internal and Surgical Diseases, Child, Women's Health or Public Health Nursing.

 

Graduates can find employment opportunities in both the health sector and universities.

Çiçek noted that the graduates of the master’s program would receive the title of specialist nurse, and that the graduates will have the opportunity to be employed both in the health sector and as an academician.

Stating that the graduates can find employment opportunities in a number of areas, such as outpatient or inpatient diagnosis, treatment institutions of the public and private sector, training and counseling centers, institutions providing home care services, and care and rehabilitation centers for elderly-child-disabled individuals, Prof. Dr. Çiçek stated they would be prioritized due to the high level of knowledge they have received in a number of areas.
