The CIU Folklore/Literature Journal “Women’s Studies Special Edition” to be published

The Cyprus International University (CIU) academic/scientific journal May 2021 issue of Folklore / Literature, is being prepared in a universal framework as a special issue focusing on Women's Studies.

In the statement made by the magazine management and CIU Center for Women and Gender Studies (UKAMER), the special issue will feature guest editors from Frankfurt and Yale Universities, with empirical and collection work on the subject of women’s studies from different perspectives, particularly across folklore, literature, sociology, psychology, anthropology, history, etc. as well as other disciplines.

With discussions of current matters in relation to gender, the special issue aims to contribute to the establishment of policies for feminist productivity and creativity, in line with the results of scientific research that address women's feminist artistic creativity, resistance, critical artistic production, and stance against heteropatriarchy.

The articles will be registered as DOI and listed in reputable directories, including Dergipark, Scopus and DOAJ

Articles to be edited in accordance to the general publication rules and principles of Folklore / Literature, will be limited to 40 thousand characters and submitted to the approval of two expert in the field referees. Articles written in Turkish or English, will be DOI registered, and listed in reputable directories, including Dergipark, Scopus, DOAJ.

Speaking about the special issue, UKAMER President Assist. Prof. Dr. Mihrican Aylanç expressed their satisfaction that the CIU Folklore / Literature Magazine, which features in reputable national and international indexes, opened its pages to a topic that is currently on the agenda across the world.

Assist. Prof. Dr. Aylanç expressed their belief that important scientific / academic contributions will be made to the field with this special issue of women's studies, which will be published for the first time on the island.
