The CIU Arena has opened its doors to sportslovers

The Cyprus International University (CIU) sports complex CIU Arena, has opened its doors to sportslovers during the normalization period being experienced due to the COVID-19 case in the country.

The CIU Arena Sports Coordinator Tarkan Kayaş, reminded that the arena is the first and only integrated sports complex in the TRNC, which includes all sports fields, and went on to say "We have started to serve our members and visitors again by applying all hygiene rules in this process."

Speaking within the scope of the measures taken, Kayaş explained that the shoes of sports fans and visitors were disinfected with a hygienic mat at the entrance, with hand disinfectant provided at the hall entrance, the temperature of members and visitors were measured and recorded with a non-contact thermometer, and the entire venue and pool were cleaned regularly according to hygiene rules.

Drawing attention to the importance of sports especially after COVID-19 in terms of strengthening the immune system, Tarkan Kayaş noted that both the fitness center and the swimming pool of the CIU Arena are offered to sports lovers.

In his statement, Kayaş also stated that the necessary arrangements for swimming courses have been completed, adding that swimming registration for sports fans of all ages has begun.

Underlining that the CIU Arena provides free services to CIU students at certain hours of the day, Kayaş said, “We have a lot of students staying especially in university dormitories. We wanted to create alternative areas of activity for which they would not pay any fees."
