The CIU 2021-2022 Orientation Days continue without losing speed

The Social Activities Coordinate that is connected to the Cyprus International University (CIU), Student Development and Counseling Center (SDCC), are continuing the 2021-2022 Academic Year Fall Semester Student Welcoming and Orientation Days activities.

The orientation days that have been organized for newly registered students and those that are coming to the island for the first time due to the COVID-19 pandemic, have a program full of social and cultural activities, familiarizing city tours, and visits to historical locations.

The students enjoyed themselves at the open-air cinema night, which was organized after the CIU campus presentation, and then followed by a tour of Nicosia, where they obtained information about the city. Within the scope of the Nicosia tour, historical sites such as the castle walls, The Great Inn, and the Dervish Pasha Mansion were visited. The successful performance of the Jazz Corner group connected with the CIU Music Club was greatly enjoyed.

During another event, Yena Hacışevki, the founder of Atelier Kabuk, introduced the flutes she produced interactively, giving a flute recital, with the participation of the students creating an entertaining environment.

The CIU Social Activities Coordinator Selen Akün Kalaycı reminded that within the scope of the COVID-19 pandemic precautions, face-to-face education has now begun in the form of the sparse education model, and she noted that they observed that the students who have come to the island displayed a great interest in the activities being organized after such a long time.

Expressing that the activities organized within the scope of the Orientation Days that began on the 4th of October are to continue, Kalaycı added that they aim to do many more events, such as Kyrenia and Famagusta City tours, treasure hunts, dance performances, Halloween, music, and painting.

The CIU Orientations days will come to an end on the 4th November with the “Homecoming” party, and a concert from the Mary Jane music group.
