About the Program

Sports Management Program aims to help students acquire the basic knowledge and skills related to business management and help them acquire a vision to relate the knowledge and skills to the field of sports. Students who study in the Program of Sport Management take theoretical and practical courses of basic sports branches. They also take theoretical and practical courses about the management of sporting enterprises, facility planning and operation-organization, human resources, and administrative and financial issues that require the provision of administration. The undergraduate students of Sports Management Program take human anatomy, sports physiology, and training courses from the Programs of Sports Trainer Education; Recreation Education; Physical Education and Sports Teaching. Students can also increase their knowledge and skills throughout their undergraduate degree by taking elective courses from the School of Physical Education and Sports.

Educational Opportunities

Graduates are able to register in the Master’s and Doctoral Program of Physical Education and Sports, if they fulfill the requirements. They can take on the position of sports managers related to planning, organization, execution, coordination, and control. Sports Management Program students can obtain Level 1 sports trainer certificate for a sports branch that they have undertaken during their 4-year undergraduate education. The graduates can become physical education and sports teachers, on the condition that they complete their pedagogical formation education after their 4-year undergraduate education. Graduates are able to participate in sports trainer courses for fitness and other sports branches and they will be exempted from the courses they have already taken, get a Sports Trainer certificate, and move up in their field.

Career Areas

During the period of undergraduate education, students of the School of Physical Education and Sports Program can be certified in the related subjects if they participate in the certificate programs opened for their development. Graduates can participate in the organization and implementation of activities that take place in our social life in the name of health in private sports halls, organizations, businesses as administrators as well as in the tourist hotels, motels and facilities of our country, in official and private sector institutions, as managers of related staff in local administrations, and practice as professional sports managers. Graduates are able to undertake managerial duties in trade fair organizations to promote and sell sports equipment, materials and textiles, and are also preferred in the marketing and sale of sports product brands as professionals.

The main aim of this course is to provide the students with the knowledge of communication; understanding, listening, self-expression, understanding speech and communication through body language. Through listening students will identify different sound rhythms and practice pronounciation of letters, words and phrases. Through speaking students will identify different register and use the given language in an appropriate way. In addition students will be able to define themselves or others, answer questions in the Present Simple tense, use the prepositions of place, and talk about their daily routines. Through reading students read paragraphs and simple texts to improve their general comprehension of the passages, and answer the given comprehension questions. Also, by reading higher level paragraphs and texts, students infer the meaning of new words by using their existing vocabulary. Through productive skills, which are speaking and writing, students identify different register and use the given language in an appropriate way.
