CIU organizes activities to welcome new students

The 2022-2023 Academic Year Fall Semester Student Welcome and Orientation Days is being organized by Cyprus International University (CIU) Social Activities and Clubs Coordinator’s  Office  that functions under the Student Development and Counseling Center (SDCC) and Kuzey Kıbrıs Turkcell is sponsoring the event.

CIU Social Activities and Clubs Coordinator Selen Akün Kalaycı noted that they are planning a series of activities to meet and greet the 2022-2023 Fall Semester incoming students,  to introduce them  to the academic and cultural structure of the university, to help them better understand what it means to be a university student and to enable them to learn about North Cyprus.

CIU Orientation days designed for students to adapt easily to university life, will be organized under the communication sponsorship of Kuzey Kıbrıs Turkcell's youth brand GNÇ Cyprus. The Orientation Days will start with welcoming students which will be followed by a campus tour.  Within the scope of the Orientation Days, there will be seminars held to give detailed information about the university; students will then be taken on  cultural tours to Nicosia, Famagusta and Kyrenia. Students will have the opportunity to enjoy a Cyprus culture night, and also take part in sports competitions and various entertainment activities.

Stating that incoming CIU students will also have the opportunity to get to learn about the clubs which are  an important part of university culture, Kalaycı stated that they will be organizing a  clubs festival which will enable students to visit the club stands they are interested in and obtain information  about club activities and the works they carry out which will needless to say contribute greatly to their social life.

Kalaycı stated that this year's orientation program has a very entertaining and colorful content, and said, " we will welcome our new students with a variety of events like the open-air cinema night, treasure hunt, color festival, student clubs and international societies festival and homecoming party.  We want to ensure that they start the new academic year with a positive mindset and  feel fully motivated.”

In her statement, Kalaycı stated that the internationally famous Dharia will take the stage at the Homecoming Party which will be held on October 28th  at the CIU Open Air Performance Arts Center, and that DJ Umut Özsoy will meet with the students before the concert.
