Our university was founded in 1997 in order to educate students from all over the world. Initially the language of instruction was entirely English. The first program opened was English Language Teaching, which was governed under the Faculty of Communication. Then, it was decided to establish the Faculty of Education in 2006, andthe Department of English Language Teaching was moved under this faculty with the establishment of two new programs: Pre-School Teacher Education and Turkish Language Teaching. Following the activation of the Faculty, several new departments were also opened: Department of Computers and Instructional Technology Education; Department of Guidance and Psychological Counseling; and the Department of Special Education Teaching. We are additionally proud to be the first university in Cyprus to launch the Department of Special Education Teaching.
