A positive thinking approach to effective parenting

Prof. Dr. Çağla Gür held a talk and autograph session about her latest book, "Effective Parenting with a Positive Thinking Approach - 7 Golden Keys" at CIU

Cyprus International University (CIU) Faculty of Education lecturer Prof. Dr. Çağla Gür talked  about her book entitled "Effective Parenting with a Positive Thinking Approach - 7 Golden Keys" and pointed to the importance of positive thinking in the parenting process.  Gür also autographed her books for the book lovers at the talk that pulled the attention  of a wide audience held in the conference hall of CIU Çevik Uraz Center.

Speaking at the opening of the event, CIU Faculty of Education Dean Prof. Dr. Halil İbrahim Yalın pointed out the importance of the book on parenting skills and congratulated Dr. Gür for her book.

Gür discussed her purpose in writing the book and also parenting issues within the scope of positive thinking at the event moderated by  CIU Faculty of Education lecturer Assist. Prof. Dr. Mihrican Aylanç.  

Gür also gave information about what the  7 golden keys in the book were comprised of and also positive ways of thinking, and said, "Positive (constructive) thinking includes the perspective of perceiving and evaluating opportunities and constructive solutions in life, which increases the quality of life of the individual."

Pointing out that parents who can approach life with a positive perspective can raise positive-thinking children, Gür said, "Positive thinking strategies are considered by many researchers to increase psychological resilience and as preventive measures against psychological problems that may occur in the future."

The Talk was attended  by a good number of academicians and students not only from the Faculty of Education but from other faculties as well.  The event ended with the booklovers asking Gür to sign her books.
