Healthcare Conference Series II held at CIU

The Faculty of Pharmacy of Cyprus International University (CIU) organized Healthcare Conference Series II. 

Assist. Prof. Dr. Ahmet Sami Boşnak moderated the event that took place at the CIU Çevik Uraz Center Conference Hall, and Prof. Dr. Mohammed Abdullahi and Prof. Dr. Shekoufeh Nikfar from the Faculty of Pharmacy of Iran Medical Sciences University were the speakers.

Dean of CIU Faculty of Pharmacy Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aslan in his opening speech stated that the pharmacy profession is  multidisciplinary and that they have to constantly update information and produce new information in order not to fall behind in the profession, and also noted that their aim is to ensure that students are informed about the most recent studies.

Drawing attention to the importance of developing relations with health sciences, environment, nature, economy, engineering, law and many other positive sciences in order to achieve real success in the profession, Aslan pointed out that today's conference is an opportunity from this perspective.

Abdullahi, who was the first speaker at the conference, presented what has been on the agenda in recent years of the impact of global climate change on human health and diseases and gave information about scientific research, decisions taken by states and practices.

Abdullahi talked about the effects of global climate change on today's pharmaceutical world, and presented examples of what kind of health and pharmaceutical policies could be on the agenda in the future.

Speaking at the conference, Nikfar stated that there is an increase in the economic crisis in the world and noted that the economic imbalances created by this crisis directly affects the budgets allocated for health.in these countries 

Nikfar discussed how the current limited resources can be used efficiently and the effects of the disruptions in  the pharma supply chain caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, and also explained how measures and practices that states are trying to take reflect on health services.

In the Question & Answer session held right after the presentations, the attendees forwarded their  questions which were mainly related to drug shortages, the global measures taken and their effects on geography.
