Faculty of Pharmacy
Pharmaceutics is as responsible for the health of society as are medicine and nursing. It is also among the rare working areas which require multiple service skills. That’s why it is a necessity to educate individuals not as “prototype pharmacists” but as those who are able to communicate, research, question, evaluate, quote, develop, proceed, aim for the best for society and participate in it. All these things are provided for in the Faculty of Pharmacy, which is integrated with the world, well equipped, innovative, and taught by academicians who know the importance of the students and the richness of the studies. The Faculty of Pharmacy in CIU offers both a pharmacy technologies course and an education system based in high-technology laboratories, which allows professional academicians to proceed with projects and in sharing their experiences to improve students’ skills.
The Faculty of Pharmacy of the CIU aims to improve its students’ education by using multidisciplinary education. The aim of being a pharmacist is to satisfy the needs of the hospital, the pharmacy and the indusrial pharmacist. This includes integration of the Bologna process. Our goal is to produce pharmacists who are conscious of the public’s health, who can talk about their country’s consumption and production of medicine and who maintain a link with our university and our vision of life long learning.
Another aim of the Faculty of Pharmacy is to create open-minded pharmacists who can help devise health policies based on the needs of the community. Our programme will stress the importance of drug consulting and aim to support the position of the pharmaceutist and the patient-based clinical pharmacy service which is given in the hospitals. We also look to educate sufficient students who can continue carrying the profession forward, endowed with professional ethics and supported by the history of science.
In the practise of pharmacy (pharmacy and industrial pharmacy), conventional and advanced laboratory techniques are needed. Therefore, the training programs at the Faculty of Pharmacy are supported by multiple analysis methods, the most effective use of laboratory equipment and supplies and the use of inter-informational systems to achieve success. Pharmacists, using advanced laboratory techniques, pharmaceutical research and directed development programs will provide added value to their and to our country.
The Faculty of Pharmacy at CIU aims to provide pharmacists with moral development, to facilitate the flow of information between countries with the participation of alumni and faculty members of the pharmacy profession as well as integrating health sciences as a career.
