Enrolment Procedures


Enrolment Procedures for Turkish Citizens concerning Associate Degree Programmes

Enrolment procedures concerning students who were admitted to the University via the Turkish Council of Higher Education (YÖK) Centre of Student Selection and Placement (ÖSYM) are indicated here below:

Students who earned placement at our University may get enrolled either at our Representative Offices in Turkey, or directly at the Registrar’s Office

Prospective students who earned placement must complete the Enrolment forms which are provided at the Representative Offices, or at the Registrar’s Office, and deposit them, together with a complete set of required documents, at the Representative Offices.

The enrolment form which was completed by an applying student must be submitted by a University Representative to the Registrar’s Office to the attention of the Directorate, together with the student’s Centre of Student Selection and Placement (ÖSYM) placement document and a copy of the student’s diploma.

In instances where a student has not submitted all required documents, the concerned University Representative Office must be informed of missing documents, and asked to submit such documents.

A prospective student who chooses to carry out their enrolment procedure at the Registrar’s Office must complete the relevant enrolment form and submit it together with a complete set of required documents at the Registrar’s Office.

In order to facilitate postponement of military service, male students must provide documentation of their status concerning military service obligation.

In instances where a student has not submitted all required documents, the concerned student must be informed of missing documents in order that they may submit such documents.

Prospective students are referred to the Directorate of Accounting in order to undertake payment as required, or to obtain information.

Those student who were approved by the Accounting Office will be issued a student number by the Registrar’s Office.

All required documents of a student must be checked again when they report to the Registrar’s Office for enrolment purposes, prior to issuing them a student card, and , if requested, a document concerning the status of the student.

Enrolment Procedures Concerning Students with Turkish Citizenship

Enrolment procedures concerning students who were placed in our University via the Turkish Council of Higher Education Centre of Student Selection and Placement (ÖSYM) consequent to results of the undergraduate placement examination are indicated here below:

Students who obtained placement in our University may enrol either via our Representative Offices in Turkey, or directly at the Registrar’s Office.

Prospective students who earned placement must complete the Enrolment forms which are provided at the Representative Offices or at the Registrar’s Office, and must deposit them together with a complete set of required documents at the Representative Offices.

The enrolment form which was completed by an applying student, must be submitted by a University Representative to the Registrar’s Office to the attention of the Office Directorate, together with the student’s ÖSYM placement document and a copy of the student’s diploma. In instances where a student has not submitted all required documents, the concerned University Representative must be informed of missing documents, and asked to submit such documents.

Enrolment Procedure Concerning Undergraduate Programmes

Enrolment procedures concerning our students who are citizens of Turkey, TRNC and citizens of other countries are presented here below:

Undergraduate application by Turkish students: In those instances where a prospective student has taken the Academic Personnel and Postgraduate Education Entrance Examination (ALES) in line with the criteria foreseen by the Turkish Council of Higher Education Centre of Student Selection and Placement (ÖSYM), and has obtained a sufficient score in the subject matter required for the department for which they intend to apply, the student may submit an application for a Graduate Degree programme via the web-page of the Institute Directorate.

A prospective student who was approved by the Institute Directorate must report to the Registrar’s Office, equipped with an application document which was obtained at the Institute Directorate and which bears approval of the Directorate, in order to complete the enrolment form.

When they have filled out the enrolment form, and completed a set of required documents the student must submit all their documents at the Registrar’s Office. In instances where the prospective student has not submitted all required documents, they must be informed of missing documents, and asked to submit such documents.

Prospective students are referred to the Directorate of Accounting in order to undertake payment as required, or to obtain information.

Those prospective students who were approved by the Accounting Office will be issued their student number by the Registrar’s Office.

All required documents of a student must be checked again when they report to the Registrar’s Office for enrolment purposes, prior to issuing them a student card and, if requested, a document concerning the status of the student.

Application and Enrolment without a score of Academic Personnel and Postgraduate Education Entrance Examination

1) A student must take the very first Academic Personnel and Postgraduate Education Entrance Examination to be offered in the semester following the semester during which they were enrolled and must succeed in the exam, before they may be accorded renewal of their enrolment in the said semester.

2) In instances where a student is not successful in the Academic Personnel and Postgraduate Education Entrance Examination, the student will be expelled by the University.

Undergraduate- Graduate – Doctorate Programme Enrolment Procedures Concerning International Students

All students who are citizens of countries other than Turkey and TRNC, and who are holders of a high-school diploma may apply for undergraduate programmes through the Overseas Representative Offices of CIU in their country of residence, or on-line, through the International Office Directorate of CIU.

Admission of international students is administered by the International Office of CIU.

Students must complete the on-line Enrolment forms which are provided on the web site, and must send them together with a complete set of required documents to the International Office.

Those students who received a Conditional Acceptance Letter (CAL), or an Unconditional Acceptance Letter (UAL) must report to the Registrar’s Office in order to carry out the enrolment process by submitting the relevant enrolment form together with required documents.

A student who holds a CAL shall be referred to the Accounting Office Directorate in order to undertake payment of required fees.

The student who has completely paid required fees shall be issued a confirmation of payment by the Accounting Office, and issued an UAL by the International Office.

When a student is issued an UAL their student number is generated automatically. The UAL and all required documents of the student must be checked again when they report to the Registrar’s Office for enrolment purposes, prior to issuing them a student card and a document concerning the status of the student.

Graduate and Doctorate Programme Enrolment Procedures Concerning Turkish Cypriot Students

Students who are citizens of TRNC may contact the Institute Directorate concerning Graduate Programme application.

Students may apply for Graduate or Doctorate Programmes without a score of Academic Personnel and Postgraduate Education Entrance Examination.

A prospective student who was approved by the Institute Directorate must report to the Registrar’s Office, equipped with an application document which was obtained at the Institute Directorate and which bears approval of the Directorate, in order to complete the enrolment form.

Once completed, the student must submit the enrolment form together with a complete set of required documents at the Registrar’s Office. In instances where the prospective student has not submitted all required documents, they must be informed of missing documents, and asked to submit such documents.

Prospective students are referred to the Accounting Office Directorate in order to undertake payment as required, or to obtain information.

Those prospective students who were approved by the Accounting Office will be issued their student number by the Registrar’s Office.

Before a student may be issued a student card and , if requested, a document concerning the status of the student, all required documents of the student must be checked again when they report to the Registrar’s Office for enrolment purposes.

Procedures Concerning Enrolment of Turkish Citizens through the Examination of External Transfer

Enrolment procedures concerning students who were accorded placement at the University via the Turkish Council of Higher Education Centre of Student Selection and Placement (ÖSYM) Examination of External Transfer (DGS) are indicated here below:

Students who are accorded placement at our University may complete the enrolment process at our Representative Offices in Turkey and/or directly at the Registrar’s Office on dates established by the Centre of Student Selection and Placement (ÖSYM).

Prospective students who earned placement must complete the Enrolment form which is provided at the Representative Offices or at the Registrar’s Office, before depositing the form, together with a complete set of required documents, at the Representative Offices /Registrar’s Office.

The completed enrolment form must be submitted by a University Representative to the Registrar’s Office to the attention of the Director, together with the student’s External Transfer Examination (DGS) placement document and a copy of the student’s Diploma.

In instances where a student has not submitted all required documents, the concerned University Representative Office must be informed of missing documents, and asked to submit such documents.

A prospective student who reports to the Registrar’s Office for enrolment purposes must complete the relevant enrolment form and submit it together with a complete set of required documents at the Registrar’s Office.

Enrolment Procedures Concerning Placement through Internal Transfer Exam

In those instances where a student holds a placement exam score, in the year where they enrolled, which is equal or superior to the score required, in the year where they demand transfer, for earning placement in the programme to which they wish to obtain a transfer, the student may apply for inter-institutional placement as a transfer student. The student may also submit an application for Inter-institutional transfer in the context of equivalent diploma programmes offered at the same academic levels by institutions, as well as in the context of quotas published by the Council of Higher Education.

Students who wish to submit an application for Inter-institutional transfer must apply on-line with required documents through the Turkey-TRNC Representative Office Directorate in line with the rules foreseen by the Centre of Student Selection and Placement between the dates announced by the University.

Applications submitted for Inter-institutional transfer will be evaluated by the Registrar’s Office. In instances where the evaluation of a student’s application was concluded unfavourably, the student shall be proposed different programmes whereby their placement as a transfer student is probable. A student whose application was approved must complete the relevant enrolment form and submit it together with a complete set of required documents at the Registrar’s Office.

In instances where a student has not submitted all required documents, the concerned student, or the concerned representative office must be informed of missing documents and asked to send such documents. A prospective student who reports to the Registrar’s Office for enrolment purposes must complete the relevant enrolment form and submit it together with a complete set of required documents at the Registrar’s Office.

Those students who requested information concerning obtaining exemption from a given course are referred to the concerned Faculty.
