A Work from a Lecturer that will keep a Light on Teachers and Teacher Candidates
The Head of the Educational Sciences Department, Faculty of Education, Cyprus International University (CIU), Prof. Dr. Fatoş Silman’s book titled "Educational Movies, A Guide for Teacher Candidates" has been published. There will be a book promotion and signature programme on Monday, October 30 at 15:30 at the CIU to introduce the book.
Faculty Member of the Faculty of Education Prof. Dr. Fatoş Silman stated that the work is an important reference for teachers and teacher candidates. Silman also pointed out that she included the films she found important for education in her work.
Prof. Dr. Silman pointed out that the films included in the book involve classroom and school management, special education, instructional strategies, school-parent relationships, multicultural classes and different educational systems. Prof. Dr. Silman noted that the work would be a guide for teachers and teacher candidates. Prof. Dr. Silman mentioned that in selected films, in addition to the issues related to the education, attention to social issues such as racism, gender and social class distinction have also been given.
Prof. Dr. Fatoş Silman added that teachers and academics could use the book in their classrooms and also added that the book might help to improve analytical abilities of the students.
Prof. Dr. Silman said that the book could be used for classroom management and educational management courses, and she emphasized that her purpose of writing the book is to help students and teacher candidates develop different ways of thinking.
The promotion and signature ceremony of Prof. Dr. Fatoş Silman’s book titled "Educational Movies, A Guide for Teacher Candidates", who is the Head of the Educational Sciences Department, Faculty of Education, Cyprus International University (CIU), will take place at a cocktail at the University with the participation of the Rector of CIU Prof. Dr. Halil Nadiri and Vice Rectors. The book will be presented at the CIU Library Lounge on Monday, October 30th at 15.30.
