Within the Scope of the “Faculty Seminars” of the CIU Faculty of Communications Diriliş “Ertuğrul” Series Discussed
As part of the "Faculty Seminars” activity series, a seminar on "Lost Power of Recovery of- Diriliş Ertuğrul Series Case" was discussed within the scope of the accreditation work started by Cyprus International University (CIU), Faculty of Communication, with the Communication Training Evaluation Accreditation Board (İLEDAK) from Turkey.
In the study, conducted by Serkan Fundalar, faculty member of the Radio Television Department, Faculty of Communication, an analysis was carried out on the relationship of the audience with the Diriliş Ertuğrul series.
Serkan Fundalar gave information about monitoring rates in Turkey, which group it addresses in Turkey and in what kind of political atmosphere it was emerged, which is about the establishment of the Ottoman Empire, and he also gave samples from Leni Riefenstahl, Germany's propaganda film director, and he pointed out that the audience is trying to regenerate his/her inner powers.
Serkan Fundalar pointed out the rate of monitoring since the beginning of the series and he said there is an increase in the lower income and low level of education observers due to the array of concurrent comments of the current political authority.
Serkan Fundalar mentioned that there is a parallelism between the current political authority and the sayings of the characters of the Diriliş Ertuğrul series. He said “Major common spoken patterns are used”. Serkan Fundalar said nowadays the use of "New Turkey" and "Ottomanism" expressions have increased, and he said the audience feel the potential, the power, and the control they cannot experience in their own lives and even if the feeling of being as part of a bigger thing with the subject and the explanation of the audiences of Diriliş Ertuğrul series.
