“TR-TRNC Comparative Law Student Seminar” was hosted by CIU
Faculty of Law, Cyprus International University (CIU) and Özyeğin University (OZU), Faculty of Law, held the “TR-TRNC Comparative Law Student Seminar” for the fifth time this year.
At the seminar, "Fundamental Rights and Freedom", Republic of Turkey and Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus laws were discussed.
At the event, which was moderated by lecturers of the two universities, students from both universities discussed issues on ‘Life and Body Integrity/Person Immunity’, ‘Confidentiality of Private Life/Personal Freedom and Security’, ‘Freedom of Press/Freedom of Expression’, ’Freedom of Travel/Meeting and Demonstration’ and 'Accused Rights/Residential Immunity' .
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Şölen Külahçı, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Law, stated that CIU and OZU students conducted research on the topics identified on TR Law and TRNC Law to put into practice the courses that they have taken during the semester.
Prof. Dr. Yener Ünver, Dean of Faculty of Law, Özyeğin University, stated that students prepared scientific presentations at the event. “As an academician, they applied research, reasoning, producing their own ideas and realizing them.” he said.
