“A Student Projects Exhibition” was held at CIU in commemoration of Prof. Dr. Atilla Yücel
A Student Projects Exhibition was held in commemoration of Atilla Yücel within the scope of a “Faculty Meeting and Fusion Event” which was organized by the Faculty of Fine Arts, Design and Architecture (FFADA) conventionally.
Rector of CIU, Prof. Dr. Halil Nadiri, made a speech at the opening of the exhibition stating that it is very important for students to introduce their projects in such events. Prof. Dr. Nadiri said that such activities are an opportunity for both the academic and international careers of the students and he advised the students to use all kinds of opportunities.
Nadiri stated that with the MİAK accreditation obtained by the Department of Architecture, FFADA of CIU, the University is an academic institution that has achieved success in line with its mission to be accredited not only by the region but also by international independent organizations.
Nadiri recalled that the exhibition was held in the commemoration of Atilla Yücel who recently passed on, and he pointed that it is very important to organise these kind of awareness raising events to commemorate and embalm everyone who supports and contributes to the university.
Dr. Gürkan Gökaşan, lecturer of the Department of Graphic Design, stated that the designs of the students of the Architecture, Interior Design and Graphic Design Departments, which were within the scope of the exhibition, were exhibited from the past years.
Gökaşan said that the exhibition included architectural drawings, models, and poster designs, magazine designs, and typographic works from architectural drawings. In his speech, Gökaşan said “This exhibition was held in the memory of our valuable lecturer Prof. Dr. Atilla Yücel, who worked as the Dean of the GSTMF and passed on recently’’ Gökaşan said in the Atilla Yücel Student Projects Exhibition the designs will be exhibited for a week.
