School of Tourism and Hotel Management of CIU awaits future tourism professional and gastronomers
School of Tourism and Hotel Management, Cyprus International University is ready for the academic year 2018-2019 with Tourism and Hotel Management, Gastronomy and Culinary Arts, Cooking undergraduate and associate degree programs.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Orhan Uludağ, the Director of the School of Tourism and Hotel Management said that they started to take students to the graduate and associate degree programs and the Master's programs in Tourism and Hotel Management, which was approved by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) in 2018-2019 Academic Year.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Orhan Uludağ stated that students will improve their technical skills and the ability to use tools at the laboratories of the school and they helped them improve their knowledge and skills by doing internships in 4 or 5 star hotels, holiday villages and luxury restaurants during summer internships.
Uludağ mentioned that the students do various activities during their education for their personal development with the Tourism Club and other student communities and he also said that they participate in various scientific, social and cultural activities at national and international levels such as workshops, conferences and symposiums. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Uludağ recalled that the School of Tourism and Hotel Management passed through the FIBAA accreditation process and he pointed out that they will further increase their education qualifications in the new academic year.
Uludağ gave information about another training kitchen and he said “The construction process of the kitchen has come to an end and it is one of the top-level production kitchens in terms of area and design and functionality in the island. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Uludağ said that the Gastronomy and Culinary Arts, Tourism and Hotel Management and Cookery Departments will undergo a major development with this kitchen which is about to finish.
