A Recital from Rüya Taner as part of the 20th Anniversary Events of CIU

As part of the 20th Anniversary Events of CIU, with the main sponsorship of Türkiye İş Bank and the organization of Music Foundation within the scope of University Rituals with Rüya Taner "A Town, A Recital" event is going to be organized. In the event; Rüya Taner, one of the leading artists of Cyprus and Turkey, will perform.

An event with the name of "A Town, A Recital", will start at 20:00 on Tuesday, 24th October at Bellapais Monastery, Beylerbeyi, Kyrenia

It will be free of charge for all art lovers to enter the event to be performed by by one of the leading new generation concert pianists of Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and Turkey, and Steinway and Sons artist Rüya Taner. In recital, which will be performed by Rüya Taner, the works of famous artists such as Robert Schumann, Claude Debussy, Zoltán Kodály, Frédéric Chopin, Edvard Grieg ve Felix Mendelssohn will be played.

 

Who is Rüya Taner?

One of the leading new generation concert pianists of Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and Turkey, and Steinway and Sons artist Rüya Taner started his first music studies with his father Yılmaz Taner.

At the Ankara State Conservatory, where she entered at a young age continued her piano studies with Mithat Fenmen and Tulga Çetiz. In 1983, by taking the advantage of the "Law on the Raising of Gifted Children" with North Cyprus Turkish Republic Government Scholarship she became a student of Prof Joan Havill at “Guildhall School of Music and Drama” in London.

In 1994, she graduated with the title of "Concert Pianist" which is rarely given. Since 2001, as well as the President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus "Private Art Consultancy", Taner is also an art consultant for "North Cyprus Bellapais Music Festival" and "Northern Cyprus International Lefke Art Festival".  In recent years, besides her solo career, Taner, gives concerts with young generation soloists and "Chamber Music" concerts with pianists connected to "Adap".
