Prof. Dr. Muhittin Tuş, The Dean of the Faculty of Education, made explanations because of the World Teachers' Day

Prof. Dr. Muhittin Tuş, The Dean of the Faculty of Education of CIU, gave information on the occasion of the World Teachers' Day.

Prof. Dr. Muhittin Tuş, The Dean of the Faculty of Education of CIU, emphasized that the most important element that constitutes the foundation of a society is education. Prof. Dr. Tuş, stating that teachers are one of the most important groups of a community, celebrated the World Teachers' Day of all the teachers.

These celebrations are held in different communities on different dates he said, "Some societies have set 28th February  as the teachers’ day; The Republic of Turkey has set 24th November as the teachers’ day he said. Professor Dr. Muhittin Tuş continued as follows: Since the Republic of Turkey awarded Gazi Mustafa Kemal the title of "Head Teacher" on 24th November, it was decided to celebrate this day as Teachers' Day. In Europe, the reason for the celebration of 5th October as the Teachers' day was developed with the decision taken after the 1966 Special Conference on the Status of Teachers' Conference in Paris. With a recommendation in 1994, UNESCO designated the day on which these decisions were taken as "World Teachers' Day".

Prof. Dr. Muhittin Tuş stated that the foundation of society is education, Prof. Dr. Tuş emphasized that the start of education is the basic education. Professor Dr. Tuş added that one of the states that took the first decision of the "basic education is obligatory" in the world is the Ottoman State. In 1832, Mahmut II. declared that everyone should have basic education before the establishment of a ministry, then the start of teacher training". Professor Dr. Muhittin Tuş also stated that the celebrations for the "World Teachers' Day" are held almost in every school in the world at the beginning of every academic year. He also emphasized that this date also coincides with the turn of the week which is celebrated by the 'Elementary Education Week'. He said that events are organized to draw attention to the importance of education and the teacher.

Prof. Dr. Muhittin Tuş, The Dean of the Faculty of Education, said, "It is necessary to aim at becoming an information society in order to be able to exceed the level of contemporary civilization that Ataturk has shown as a target" and continued his words as follows: In order to become an information society, we acquire the knowledge and skills necessary for lifelong learning from educational institutions and teachers. The better the teachers of a community, the stronger the foundations of that community ".

Prof. Dr. Tuş, quoting from Atatürk, gave the teachers advice to guide them on this special day. Mustafa Kemal Ataturk said, "Education brings a nation into a free, independent, glorious, high society; or abandonment of the nation's bondage and chorus ", he said," It is possible to educate ourselves, our family, the people around us, our nation, being useful to human beings to learn to read and write. "

Atatürk, who believes in the importance of education, has realized the letter revolution after the publication of the republic. Prof. Dr. Muhittin Tuş said that initiatives to increase the rate of reading and writing are starting, increasing the number of primary education institutions and emphasizing the opening of universities. He emphasized the importance of Atatürk's progress in terms of the Turkish nation and reminded the Turkish nation that "the most true mrytle in life is knowledge".
