"Palestinian Night" Enthusiasm Continues at CIU
At the "Third Palestinian Night" organized by the International Centre of Cyprus International University (CIU) traditional clothing and cuisine which are part of the Palestinian culture took place.
At the event, which started with a slide presentation, introducing the Palestinian State, CIU Rector Halil Nadiri said that "We wanted to share Palestinian culture with our students from 105 other countries in our university and to integrate them at the Palestinian night" at his opening speech.
Prof. Dr. Nadiri emphasized that CIU is an international university and education should not only be in the classroom but also outside the classroom and pointed out the importance of students' awareness of different cultures. Rector Nadiri said that "A student, who graduates from here, must have graduated as an individual who has become familiar with more than one culture and has expanded his/her horizon".
Rector, Prof. Dr. Halil Nadiri, Vice Rectors, Prof. Dr. Majid Hashemipour and Prof. Dr. Serkan Abbasoğlu, the Director of the Student Development and Counselling Centre, Gamze Atay, academics and the CIU students attended the event.
At the event held at the Çevik Uraz Conference Hall, the students had an opportunity to have a pleasant night with the dance performances. The event, organized by the Palestinian Students' Society, attracted a lot of interest by all the participants ended with a cake party.
