Master Poets of the Turkish Cypriot Poetry will be commemorated by poetry at CIU

Cyprus International University (CIU) Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Turkish Language and Literature Department will organize a "poetry readings" event.

Lecturer Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mihrican Aylanç will moderate the event and the poems of master poets in the life of Turkish Cypriot Culture and Literature will be read. The event will take place under the name of "Poetry Literature" program by the Turkish Language and Literature Department, Faculty of Arts and Sciences of CIU and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Aylanç, who gave information about the event, mentioned that the poems of the master poets of the Turkish Cypriot poetry, who are Fikret Demirağ, Osman Türkay, Özker Yaşın and Taner Baybars, will be read at this event.

The first program in which Fikret Demirağ's poems will be read will take place on Friday, October 27, from 14.30 to 16.30 at Çevik Uraz Conference Hall. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Aylanç in the program where the poetry of Fikret Demirağ will be read along with the poetry of the students of Turkish Language and Literature Department. She emphasized that one more time Demirağ’s life, which started from Lefke and ended in Ankara and Istanbul and then in Lefkoşa with poetry, will be brought to the life once again. Besides, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Aylanç informed that Fikret Demirağ's wife Emine Demirağ will also be an honoured guest of the event and will moderate the meeting.
