Interior Design Department Graduation Projects were displayed
Interior Design Department students’ of the Faculty of Fine Arts and Architecture “Boutique Hotel" graduation project exhibition was held under the management of Lecturers, Ülfet Ü. Kenanoğlu, Ahmet M. Saymanlıer and Pervin Abohorlu Doğramacı in the Spring Semester of 2017-2018 as part of the collaboration project on “Design and Cooperation Protocol” signed by Cyprus International University (CIU) and Alsancak Municipality.
CIU Rector Prof. Dr. Halil Nadiri stated that they signed a project, as a university that owns its country and its values, contributes to the development of the country, cooperates with different institutions and a project was signed so that both academic experiences will be transferred and students will develop themselves. Prof. Dr. Nadiri said "It is important that as a University we create an awareness about the historical and cultural values of the country with protection projects" and he thanked Alsancak Mayor Fırat Ataser for creating them this opportunity and congratulated all the students and academics who contributed to the project.
Fırat Ataser, the Mayor of Alsancak Municipality, stated that their aim is to provide the projects that the public needs and would like to see and provide the best service to the public. Ataser said that they aim to spread the boutique hotel concept in the region and he said that "We want to show that only gambling tourism has not been done in the area."
Prof. Dr. Nezih Ayıran, the Acting Vice Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts, Design and Architecture and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sevinç Kurt, the Head of the Interior Design Department stated that the students, who graduated from the Interior Design Department during the Spring Semester of 2017-2018, had a great motivation during the design process of the "Boutique Hotel" finishing projects due to knowing that their designs will be put into practice by Alsancak Municipality and she added that they are satisfied with the president's positive approach and interest on behalf of the design education.
