Hüseyin Yaratan, the Academic of CIU published a book on "Basic Statistics for Social Sciences: SPSS Application"
Assoc.Prof.Dr.Hüseyin Yaratan, the Director of the Department of the Computer Education and Instructional Technologies, Faculty of Education, Cyprus International University (CIU) published a book on "Basic Statistics for Social Sciences: SPSS Application" an easy to understand book that has theoretical knowledge and practical examples which can be used by higher education students that will do research in social sciences.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Yaratan said the book, which was published by Anı Publishing, will help students, who study and do research in the social sciences and he added that it will help them to overcome their fears of statistics and he said "Students studying in social sciences have a negative attitude towards statistics. The book has a simple language, it is easy and understandable. In addition to the theoretical knowledge, the book has examples and applications that also will help students to defeat their fear."
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yaratan emphasized that in addition to the use of the book at undergraduate level, the book is also prepared with the purpose of helping the graduate students and the academic staff who will do quantitative research. He added that the book will help the researchers in their research, who have no or very limited statistics knowledge.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yaratan stated that the rapid changes and developments in today's world have brought the need for genuine and correct data into a dimension that cannot be ignored, in this context, the statistics; in parallel with the changes in the countries and societies, is on its way of becoming a universal language in the light of the reliable data.
Hüseyin Yaratan said that there are over two hundred sample tests included in four sets, after the subject has been presented in a simple language, the examples about the subjects were solved by hand calculations and then they were processed by SPSS applications. Yaratan said that the data sets of the samples in the book can be found on the Anı Publishing website and users can download and use these data sets.
