Dr. Hasan Rüstemoğlu “Climate Change and the Global Warming Problem are the Greatest Threats to the Environmental Sustainability”
Dr.Hasan Rüstemoğlu, a Lecturer of the Department of Business Administration, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Cyprus International University (CIU) pointed out that in a new book unit on environmental economics, climate change and global warming was mentioned as the biggest problem threatening environmental sustainability.
Dr. Rüstemoğlu explained that nowadays developing countries are repeating the same mistake that the developed countries did in the past and while fulfilling their economic growth targets, they ecocide environmental destruction. Rüstemoğlu emphasized that analysis of CO2 emissions is necessary for a more liveable environment and sustainable economic development, he also pointed out that the detailed analysis that he did about Brazil, Russia, India and China (BRIC), which account for around 40 percent of the world carbon emissions, can be considered as a background study.
Dr. Hasan Rüstemoğlu pointed out that the US, which is the second country in the world to achieve the greatest emission of carbon dioxide emissions, will face serious environmental problems if it decides to withdraw from the Paris Climate Change Agreement.
A Lecturer, Hasan Rüstemoğlu’s work on the "Determinants of CO2 Emissions in the BRICs over 1992 - 2013" was published as a book unit recently as part of a project on the "21st Century Science and Arts on Research in Turkey".
