Foreign Students and Academics of CIU had Fun at "Christmas Celebration"

Cyprus International University (CIU) "Christmas Celebration" was held by the Social Activity Coordinator which is affiliated to the Library Directorate and International Centre and Student Development and Counselling Centre.

The event was held at Çevik Uraz Conference Hall. CIU Rector Prof. Dr. Halil Nadiri, Rector Advisor Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mehmet Toycan and The Director of the Student Development and Counselling Centre Gamze Atay attended the celebration.

The celebration started with the opening prayer and continued with a short drama show, dance, choir and poem performance of the CIU International Choir and Dance Club. There was an active participation. The Rector of the CIU Prof. Dr. Halil Nadiri cut the cake and participants had fun at the event.

Olorunfemi: “We wanted to give gifts for the children living on the orphanage and wanted them experience Christmas spirit.”

Referring to the purpose of the event, CIU RTV Club President Onotina Jeiva Olorunfemi stated that on 25th December every year they celebrate the birth of Jesus and he added that "This year we decided to combine all of our power. With the income we got from the tickets we sold this year, we wanted to buy gifts for the children living in the orphanage and we wanted them to experience the Christmas spirit too." He noted that such situations should not be done only on certain days and he passed the message that "We believe that we can overcome many difficulties and disabilities by helping each other."
