Energy Policy in Eastern Mediterranean will be discussed at CIU on December 27th

A panel in which all aspects of the Energy Policy in the Eastern Mediterranean will be discussed, will include Prof. Dr. Kudret Özersay, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Murat Başçeri, Turkish Republic Ambassador of Nicosia, as invited guest speakers.

After the discovery of a series of natural gas fields in the Eastern Mediterranean, the strategies and tactical attacks of the regional powers towards the Eastern Mediterranean region and Cyprus have been accelerated and the importance of the issue for Cyprus will be discussed by the panel, which was organised jointly by the Department of Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, CIU, and the Department of International Relations, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences. 

The academic part of the panel will talk in detail about the sharing of hydrocarbon resources, which cause great controversy and deeply affect Cyprus and the control of the transportation routes of resources in the Middle East. This will be managed by Prof. Dr. Necdet Basa, Lecturer of the Faculty of Law, Cyprus International University.

Salih Saner, faculty member of the METU NCC, Necdet Pamir, faculty member of the Petroleum and Natural Gas Department of the Faculty of Engineering, CIU and Ergün Olgun, the previous TRNC Undersecretary, will participate as speakers.
The meeting will be held in the Çevik Uraz Conference Hall, Cyprus International University, at ten o'clock and it will be open to the public.
