"A Design Festival" was organized by the Faculty of Fine Arts Design and Architecture

A Design Festival was organized by the Faculty of Fine Arts Design and Architecture at Cyprus International University (CIU).

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Cemil Atakara, the Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts Design and Architecture pointed out that the event created a large workshop chain reaching the entire island from Karpaz to the Great Han in Nicosia. Atakara stated that workshops were done on "floating places", "silent language of buildings", "art and figure", "movement geometry", "concrete art", "displacement" and "loneliness" at the event organized under the leadership of CIU Faculty of Fine Arts Design and Architecture and also an exhibition on "Portal design / search for a transitional space" was organized at the festival. Atakara stated that the exhibition was held in the hall of Science and Technology building and various workshops work that was revealed as workshop studies were displayed.

Rector Prof. Dr. Halil Nadiri stated that CIU has produced ambitious and beautiful products with all its academic units and he pointed out that with the support of the students and academics an environment has been created in which students and academics put into practice what they have learnt in courses.

Prof. Dr. Nezih Ayıran, The Vice Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts, Design and Architecture stated that a lot of workshops were held both on campus and in the city centre this academic semester and certificates were presented to all the participants and organizers.

Atakara stated that as a faculty, the quality of education will be a vision for the students, it will make important contributions to their personal and professional development and give importance to the activities which will increase their awareness. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Cemil Atakara said that the participants of the festival and the students of CIU had the opportunity to exhibit the works they have created at their workshops during the festival.
