CIU welcomes Knorr Demo Chef and the Director Ergin Erol

A seminar on "Developments in the Gastronomy Sector" was organised by the Department of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts at the School of Tourism and Hotel Management, Cyprus International University (CIU).

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Orhan Uludağ, The Director of the School of Tourism and Hotel Management and Esat Kastambollu, The Coordinator and Lecturer of the Department of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts were present at the seminar by Knorr Demo Chef and the Director Ergin Erol.

Knorr Demo Chef and the Director Ergin Erol stated that they enjoyed being together with colleagues who are at the beginning of the road. He added that they organized the event to inform students about their professional experiences. Ergin Erol said they promoted their products at cafes, restaurants, hotels, catering firms and institution kitchens for 17 years in all provinces of Turkey and he added that they were the main sponsors as the company in trade fairs and competitions.

Ergin Erol listened to the students' thoughts and career plans and exchanged ideas about the pluses and minuses of living in the sector at the seminar organized at Çevik Uraz Conference Hall, CIU. Knorr Demo Chef and the Director Ergin Erol said that the students' questions were equivalent to their job responsibilities and this showed their awareness.

Esat Kastambollu, The Coordinator and Lecturer of the Department of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts said the main purpose of the activity was to inform the students about the sector. Kastambollu added there was an information exchange among students on how to eliminate deficiencies of spaces in North Cyprus and promote Cyprus cuisine better.
