CIU welcomed the final year students of the Accounting Department of Haydarpaşa Commercial Vocational School
The School of Applied Sciences, Cyprus International University (CIU) welcomed the final year students from the Accounting Department of Haydarpaşa Commercial Vocational School (HTL).
Students, who were informed about the educational opportunities of CIU, had the opportunity to get to know the laboratories, classrooms, student work environments, integrated sports complex and housing opportunities in the campus. HTL students were informed about the Accounting and Tax Applications and the curricula of the Computer Aided Accounting Department, as well as business opportunities in the department.
Mustafa Türkkal, a professional development teacher, HTL said that students should have a goal and he added that "The purpose of visiting CIU is to prepare our students for the university environment and to prevent that they feel outsiders."
İzlen Zeden, a student of the Accounting Department of Haydarpaşa Commercial High School said that the CIU campus has a lot of wide green area and she added that quality education is waiting for them. Zeden made explanations with regard to her field and she also said she wanted to be an academic in the future and she thinks she will be able to find all kinds of opportunities at CIU.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mehmet Ağa, The Director of the Accounting and Tax Applications Department of the Applied Sciences School and Computer Aided Accounting Department gave students information about the content of the theoretical and practical lessons, the course content and the educational process. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ağa responded to the questions and opinions of the students in the Finance Laboratory about the School of Applied Sciences and the Vocational School. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ağa noted that there is a great need for accounting staff in the local sector and candidate students should keep up with the world standards and the accounting has got a lot to offer for its graduates in future. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mehmet Ağa gave a guarantee that the Accounting Department of CIU and the Finance Laboratory would provide them with this ground to improve themselves both theoretically and practically.
