CIU Nursing Program Accredited by the Nursing-Midwifery Council of Nigeria
The English Nursing Program, which is part of the School of Health Sciences, Cyprus Internatıonal University (CIU), was accredited by the Nigerian Nursing-Midwifery Council.
Prof. Dr. Ayla Gürsoy, Head of Department of the School of Health Sciences, Vocational School of Nursing, stated that the council has been working to provide quality nursing and midwifery care to individuals since 1979.
Gürsoy added that the council, appointed by the special functions on behalf of the Federal Government of Nigeria, is the only administrative, institutional and legal institution. Gürsoy stated that the curriculum of the program, the university, and the department were examined in detail by the members of the council and the program was registered by the council.
Gürsoy said that the program will be accredited by the council and Nigerian students will have a diploma registered by the legal body of their own country. Gürsoy also pointed out that the registered diploma will be a strong reference for employment in Turkey and abroad. Gürsoy added that students of the department will have the privilege of being a student of a program accredited by a professional and legal institution throughout their education life.
Prof. Dr. Feray Gökdoğan, Director of the School of Health Sciences, stated that they are proud that the the department is accreditated and he recalled that the accreditation process for the Turkish Nursing Department continues.
