CIU Faculty Member’s Article is published in the Asos Journal
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mihrican Aylanç, the Lecturer of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, the Department of Turkish Language and Literature, published an article titled “Analysis of Memduh Şevket Esendal's Thief-Police Story in terms of Binary Oppositions” in the 59th issue of Asos Journal, The Journal of Academic Social Science which is an international refereed journal.
A Constructivist Criticism on the Story of "The Thief-Police"
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mihrican Aylanç made explanations about the publication and she said "In the study, Memduh Şevket Esendal's "The Thief Police" story was resolved in the direction of the relation and opposition principle of the structural language of the structuralism, and the structure surrounding the story and the string surrounding the meaning were revealed.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mihrican Aylanç said that the application of contemporary teaching principles and methods were compared with the traditional approaches in education on the basis of 'thief-police' sample in children's plays and she added that “teacher-student” dual opposition in the context of cause-effect relations was also questioned.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mihrican Aylanç said that Esendal expressed the criticism of the educational system he was working on in the narrative in the context of bilateral opposition, as well as the content of a social structure analysis.
