CIU Faculty of Health Sciences started Accreditation Studies
Prof. Dr. Afsun Ezel Esatoğlu, the Chairman of the Health Sciences Education Programs Evaluation and Accreditation Association (SABAK) and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Özlem Ülger, the Chairman of the Accreditation Board of Health Sciences (SAK) gave training to all the faculty members for two days on 12-13 July 2018 within the scope of the accreditation process studies of the programs of the Faculty of Health Sciences, Cyprus International University (CIU).
Prof. Dr. Feray Gökdoğan, the Dean of the CIU Faculty of Health Sciences said satisfaction that the Faculty of Health Sciences of CIU received the institutional education as the first in Northern Cyprus by authorized persons in the field and she expressed her satisfaction that the faculty academics and administrative staff were ready and enthusiastic for the studies of accreditation. Prof. Dr. Gökdoğan said that preliminary information was given about the faculty members, students, training programs, strengths of the institution and openness to development during the accreditation evaluation process and she stated that this will make an important contribution to the institution's continuous improvement efforts.
Gökdoğan said SABAK, which has an accreditation registration authorisation, by the Higher Education Quality Council does accreditation for health sciences programs in different disciplines, evaluate and information studies and it contributes to improve the quality of education of health sciences in Turkey and Northern Cyprus. Prof. Dr. Gökdoğan also stated that the studies in this area contribute to the training of better and more qualified health professionals, who understand current and emerging technologies in this field. She said "By this means it is aimed to further the welfare of the society."
Dean Gökdoğan said that with the accredited faculties of our university, the Faculty of Health Sciences started to work with institutional education as aware of the importance of accreditation in order to strengthen the students, teaching staff and institution.
