CIU Educates Dynamic and Contemporary Sports Trainers
School of Physical Education and Sports, Cyprus International University (CIU) is continuing to educate dynamic and contemporary sports trainers that has a high quality of research ability that follows the developments throughout the world in this field.
Prof. Dr. Ali Emre Erol, the Director of the School of Physical Education and Sports stated that they started academic activities with the Department of Physical Education and Sports Teaching and Sports Management Department in 2015-2016 academic year and he said that the Departments of Coaching Education and Recreation Education were opened in 2017-2018 academic year.
Prof. Dr. Erol also said that the programs were approved by YÖK and YÖDAK.
Prof. Dr. Emre Erol provided information about the educational opportunities of the school and he said that students were educated at the CIU Arena, the largest sports complex of the North Cyprus, which is scattered to 7500 square meters and has 6 classrooms, double-breasted multi-purpose sports saloon, 8 lap indoor swimming pool, fitness saloon, 2 studios, indoor-outdoor climbing wall, foyer and relaxation areas with a 7-way indoor shooting range, 2 open tennis courts, 2 open basketball courts, 2 open carpet football fields, 2 open volleyball fields.
Prof. Dr. Emre Erol said that they also care about the academic development and personal development of the students so they organize courses and certificate programmes for students. Erol said they bring together students with sports representatives and he said "We aim to increase their knowledge and personal development and make them as preferred individuals in the sector." Prof. Dr. Erol said that they aim to educate individuals that contribute to the development of the sports science at national and international scientific studies, be a pioneer to create an active and healthy society.
