Asst. Prof. Dr. Koran announced that Mothers Day's sentimental value is important
Asst. Prof. Dr. Nihan Koran, a lecturer from the Department of Early Childhood Education, made an explanation about Mother’s Day and said that love holds the family together.
Yrd. Doç. Dr. Koran, Ana JarviAsst. Prof. Dr. Koran recalled that a woman named Ana Jarvis commemorate dher mother on the second Sunday of May, so Mother's Day has been celebrated in many countries on the same day since 1914.
Koran stated that mothers’ day was celebrated only by biological mothers and their kids in the beginning. She mentioned that everyone who is considered a mother such as a foster mother or adopted mother, who take care of the child, provide trust, education, care, love, compassion should be remembered on this day.
“Even if you want to get flowers for your mother, you should be ready to buy the same product for a more expensive price than normal price” said Koran. Therefore, the sentimental value of these special days should not be get lost.”
Asst. Prof. Dr. Koran stated that it would be more appropriate to the meaning and importance of the day, if it is celebrated as a day that the mother-child relationship, bond and love. She wished a happy Mother's Day of all mothers.
