Assoc. Prof. Dr. Uludağ, an Academic from CIU, explained that TRNC has a very good Geographical Position for Health Tourism
The Director of the School of Tourism and Hospitality Management explained that the TRNC has a very good geographical position for health tourism. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Uludağ noted that besides the crime rate of the island is low, people’s hospitality are important elements for health tourism which is an alternative tourism and he added that "The most important point is to realize this as a society and to contribute to the formation of government policy on the subject."
Uludağ indicated that health tourism in the international arena is addressed in two main lines and he said that “The first one is health tourism, which includes activities for the purpose of general medical treatment and the other is categorized as "wellness" and sometimes spa tourism, but in particular, it is the work of keeping one's mind fresh.”
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Uludağ, the Director of the School of Tourism and Hospitality Management emphasized that there are indispensable elements in health tourism such as alignment of interregional price policy, institutions are accredited by international standards, use of new technologies and adoption of personalized service understanding.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Uludağ pointed out that it is a big restriction on health tourism that the TRNC has been experiencing direct flights problems. He emphasized that the authorities should ensure that passengers fly to the TRNC from alternative points. Uludağ mentioned that there are problems in infrastructure, superstructure and having qualified staff. He noted that it is important that the Ministry of Health needs to be a pioneer in this issue.
