Advertising and Public Relations students take part in an internship at Kemal Saraçoğlu Foundation

Students in the Department of Public Relations and Advertising of Cyprus International University (CIU) were provided the opportunity to undergo an internship at Kemal Saraçoğlu Foundation for Children with Leukemia and Fight against Cancer.

Asst. Prof. Dr. Bahar Taşeli, Head of Public Relations and Advertising Department, stated that the development of social responsibility awareness is important. 

Taşeli continued, “We aim to educate our students to become aware of their ethical and social responsibilities towards the society. It will be very valuable for our students to gain experience at valuable institutions such as Kemal Saraçoğlu Children with Leukemia and Cancer Fighting Foundation.”

Kemal Saraçoğlu Foundation is a charity organization which is always open to volunteer work and providing students with internship opportunities. 

Övgü İnce, the Foundation Coordinator, gave information about the foundation and explained that their aim was to raise awareness about cancer, support families fighting against the disease and provide guidance services. They provide education and social and psychological counseling to 79 children struggling with cancer. They work to find permanent solutions to the problems they face. İnce said “We notice that the internship students understand the value and importance of helping, which makes us very pleased."
