Accreditation from German Body for the CIU School of Tourism and Hotel Management
The School of Tourism and Hotel Management, Cyprus International University has been awarded FIBAA accreditation. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Orhan Uludağ, the Director of the School, said the world standard quality education of the undergraduate program of the School of Tourism and Hotel Management is demonstrated by the FIBAA accreditation.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Uludağ said the accreditation received will be a strong reference for the students, who will study or graduate from the School of Tourism and Hotel Management, to their local employers or overseas employment.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Orhan Uludağ, the Director of the School of Tourism and Hotel Management of CIU, said International Business Management Accreditation Agency (FIBAA) together with the Bologna process was established in 1994 and he stated that “FIBAA is the first accreditation institution approved by the Germany National Accreditation Agency." Uludağ said the organization has been continuing its official accreditation activities since 2002.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Uludağ pointed out that they applied for FIBAA accreditation at the beginning of 2018, saying they presented a self-assessment report prepared by the university in accordance with the prescribed international quality assurance standards within the framework of the control and supervision of the undergraduate program. Uludağ said in light of the report, an independent auditing committee did an evaluation and he pointed out that the decision was taken as a result of that evaluation.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Uludağ said they have been entitled to be accredited by FIBAA for 5 years as of September 2018 as a result of the evaluations made.
