62th Ghana Independence Day was celebrated at CIU
At the event, organized by the International Center of Cyprus International University (CIU), the 62th Independence Day of Ghana was celebrated.
During the event, where photographs of Ghana were exhibited, a presentation about the culture, history and local beauties of the country was presented to students. At the event, music and regional dances were enjoyed by the students of CIU.
Prof. Dr. Halil Nadiri, the Rector of CIU, who made a speech at the event, told to the students that, “Our family, which has been growing more and more at Cyprus International University, has given us the opportunity to learn more about Ghana with the participation of our students from different cultures.”
Nadiri advised students to learn about and interact with people of different cultures throughout their education and to be aware of the advantage of their experiences in a competitive and dynamic world.
Agozie Divine Quase, the President of the Ghana Student Society, stated that it is very important for them to have and celebrate their anniversary. He states, “History reminds us of what we can do and what we can be successful at if we believe in ourselves. This is the meaning of our independence.”
