Student Clubs

The clubs aim to provide students' with opportunities to spend their leisure time on activities that can be active, creative and social, to carry out scientific research in line with the needs and demands of the students in social, cultural, economic, and sportive areas that complement the academic programs, and to do physical development activities.

To this end, students studying at Cyprus International University get the opportunity to participate in concerts, conferences, excursions and camping activities, various sports tournaments, exhibitions, and festivals organized by more than 40 clubs throughout the year.

What should be done to open a new club? 

Principally, you have to investigate the clubs existing within the Social Activities Coordinator and make sure that the club you want to open does not match with another club’s field of interest. The procedure and the necessary documents to open a new club are given below.

Applications to open a new club are made by petition to the Social Activities Coordinator in the months of September-October and January-February. The documents below should be added in addition to the petition;

  • Club name, short name (if any), address, logo (if any), the reason to open, and club regulations,
  • The declaration of a full-time faculty member who agrees to be an Academic Advisor of the club,
  • The club founder member list (name, surname, faculty/institute/college/vocational school/department/program and contact information of these students)- a minimum of 10 students who are enrolled in undergraduate programmes and have not received any disciplinary penalties are required.
