Audiometry

About the Program

The aim of the audiometry program is to develop new technological developments with verbal communication skills, able to know and use scientific methods about the diagnosis of hearing loss and balance disorder patients, apply hearing and balance tests, have professional foreign language knowledge, follow current developments on the topic, has the ability to practice with competence, is to train qualified health technicians. The application of subjective, objective hearing and balance tests, which are thought to be necessary for hearing and balance disorders patients with hearing aids and cochlear implant companies and hospitals' ENT services, constitute an important part of training and adaptation training of hearing aids and cochlear implants. This training aims to provide our students with the skills of effective verbal communication, team work, awareness of problems and solving skills as well as professional knowledge and skills.

 

Educational Opportunities

A strong academic and physical infrastructure has been prepared for this program. Students also have summer internships in addition to their yearly practices related to their professions. There is a wide range of possibilities for internship to students. There are possibilities of reinforcement during the semester applications with experienced instructors to apply and to apply learning outcomes. There are many clubs and facilities that support social, cultural and sporting activities that students can take advantage of in our university campus area. Our experienced faculty members are educated and up-to-date information, followed by the developing educational staff and the ones that continue to grow and grow. The Audiometry Associate Degree Program will have the knowledge and competence to provide graduates with the help they need to work in hospitals or hearing centers where the hearing loss or the problem is in need.

 

Career Areas

The program graduates can work in the supervision of an audiologist or an otolaryngologist, in the audiology clinics of public or private hospitals, or in the hearing-impaired schools. At birth clinics, they can perform a hearing test on newborn babies and can perform hearing screening tests in schools. They can also take part in newborn hearing screenings, preschool and school screening schedules, industry noise measurements and hearing screenings. In addition, hearing aids and cochlear implant distributors and audiological diagnostic centers are also available in such private establishments if the need for audiometry techniques is increased. Hearing aids and cochlear implant companies appoint audiometrist as a technical staff to comply with legal requirement. When these firms are thought to give the efforts to establish a widespread network of branches in Turkey, it is considered to be increasingly more needs to audiometrist
